How are your convenor skills going?
Yesterday I pressed play on a great episode of Guy Roz’s podcast ‘How I Built This’. As a rising founder, this podcast is my go-to when I need a dose of insight and inspiration. Julia Hartz, co-founder and CEO of Eventrite, shared her lessons on leading through radical change. Woah! Talk about facing challenges. The pandemic sure did a number in the event space. She shares, with generosity and openness, the huge challenges, loss and the blank slate opportunity to help recreate Eventbrite.
I was especially intrigued on how she’s reshaped the hybrid-remote ways of working situation that all organisations are facing. This topic is on high repeat in most of my client interactions. Julia’s take? Help leaders to become the best convenors in order to make the most of in-person office time. In her own words “I believe that the skill set a great leader needs, at the very top of the list, is the ability to bring people together thoughtfully, with great intention and productively.”
Facilitation 101 was the very first programme I launched in 2020 back when I was a fledgling founder. Its purpose is to help leaders create an environment that enables greater connection, conversation, interaction, insights and action. If you’re keen to learn more about how I can help your leaders become great convenors, get in touch!
Here’s the link to the podcast. It’s a great listen!

Being Deliberate About Building Trust
When employees feel trusted, they are more likely to contribute ideas, work better together, and help the team succeed.
Off Balance, On Purpose
Even though I manage my own diary and I have full control over what goes in and when, I wouldn’t change a thing because I have a clear purpose.
