POWER Up Your Meetings

Are your meetings POWER meetings?

I’m lucky in my work. I get to learn about what happens within different organisations across different industries.

I see many different challenges and even more similarities when I’m working with my clients.

One of the main similarities I hear about regularly is the woeful meeting culture. Leaders are constantly reporting that their calendars are chock full of too many meetings leaving them with little room in their days to lead their teams, progress strategy let alone have lunch.

At a workshop this week, one of my participants shared that he’s trying POWER meetings. The whole group leaned in to hear more about what POWER stands for:

  • Purpose (why is the meeting necessary?)
  • Outcomes (what do we want to achieve, where’s the value in the meeting?)
  • What’s in it for them (why should stakeholders attend the meeting?)
  • Engagement (how are you going to ensure that participants are engaged?)
  • Roles and responsibilities (who does what?)

Could this be the Holy Grail we’ve all been waiting for? Learn more by checking out The Use of POWER for Meaningful Meetings
